Notes for Walter Clifton Hogland

Suspect that his actual birth year is 1881. Reason: He is not in the 1880 census. As his birthday is in May and the 1880 census was taken in June, he should have been on the census if born in 1879 or 1880. An 1881 birth could fit within the other Hogland children as the next child’s birthdate ranges from 1882 to 1886 depending on the source.

Proof of parentage is in Streets and Sidewalks book which specifies that William Hogland (who married Alice Street) is the brother of Walter Hogland (who married Alice’s sister, Mattie Street. This also fits with my memories of stories of this family.
