Obituary of Loal Hogland
Loal Gene Hogland, age 86, of Linn Creek, Missouri, departed this life Monday, March 24, 2014 at his home in Linn Creek.
Loal was born June 13, 1927 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the son of Walter C. and Mattie Bell (Street) Hogland.
Loal was united in marriage August 15, 1946 in Leachville, Arkansas to Melba Maynard, and together they had shared the past 67 years of marriage until his death.
Loal proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Loal worked as a truck driver for OReilly for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars and was known to be an all around handyman. He enjoyed watching baseball and was a talented musician who played bass. Loal loved life and was a giving person who was always willing to help anyone in need. More than anything Loal loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
Loal was a member of Walk OnThe Water Faith Church in Osage Beach where he served as a Deacon and where he played bass with the band.
Loal is survived by his loving wife Melba; one son, Loal Gene Hogland, Jr. and wife, Gayle, of Fairgrove, Missouri; one daughter Barbara Lee Howdeshell and husband, Steve, of St. Charles, Missouri; one brother W.C. Hogland and wife, Anita, of Patton, Missouri; four sisters-in-law, Barbara Jolliff, Anita Hogeland, Georgia Hogeland, and Janice Maynard; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mattie Hogland; four brothers; seven sisters; three brothers-in-law; and one granddaughter.
