Note: There are two Peter Krupps both born in Reuschbach, Bayern, Germany:

1) Peter b 3/11/1832 to Peter and Elizabetha Lill

2) Peter b 3/26/1826 to Georg and Anna Maria Häberle

Since our Peter’s son Jacob was born 1/1/1845, we can eliminate the first one as he would have been only 13 at the time of Jacob’s birth. Therefore, our Peter is the second one.

And, wouldn’t you know it, the first Peter (who is not ours) ended up in St. Clair County, Ill. There are numerous records for him. He is married to a Magdelena (Lena). His will is available (1911) and it lists all of his children, of which there are many, and there is no Jacob in the list. The will also gives us information that enables us to conclude that the will and the census records with wife Magdelena are from the first Peter. His mother was Elisabtha Lill. This Peter’s will was witnessed by a man with the last name of Lill.
