Notes for Rena Faye Thorpe
Rena Faye Dickerson, 80, died peacefully on Monday August 14, 2017 at her home in Houston, Texas. Rena was born on April 19, 1937, the oldest of five, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of Ben and Bessie Thorpe. When Rena was very young, her family moved to Shallowater, Texas and ultimately to Houston, Texas. Rena graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1955 and married her high school sweetheart, Edwin Wayne Dickerson in 1956. Fourteen years later, their son, Frank Marshall Dickerson was born. After Edwin passed away, Rena began working for Carl's Refrigeration, and continued to work there for 25 years.

Rena was a sweet, thoughtful, caring and loving woman with a great sense of humor. She had a very strong faith and was a very active member of New Wine Christian Fellowship. Rena loved antiques and the simple things in life. She enjoyed cross stitch, gardening, baking and spending time with family and friends.

Rena is preceded in death by her husband Edwin and her sister Dorothy Davidek. She is survived by her son Frank Dickerson of Alpine, Wyoming; grandson Elijah Dickerson of Englewood, Ohio; sister Sue and her husband W. L. Spencer of Harwood, Texas; sister Diana and her husband Richard Dietrich of College Station, Texas; brother Robert Thorpe and his wife Connie of Magnolia, Texas and numerous loving relatives and friends.
