SKINNER, Melvin E. Age 93, died Monday, June 14 in Clearwater. Born in Norfolk, VA July 26, 1916, Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his first wife, Willie Frank Morrell, his second wife, Verdine A. Peltier, and his brother Russell. He is survived by his sister, Beatrice M. Sloan of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and his nephews, Ken Sloan of Palm Beach Gardens, and Don Sloan, of Haverhill, FL. Mr. Skinner was employed by the Norfolk U.S. Naval Shipyard his entire career, interrupted only by two years of service in the U.S. Army during WWII. Melvin and Frankie moved to Florida in 1975. The Skinners attended St Luke's Methodist Church where Melvin worked as treasurer. Following cremation, Mr. Skinner will be interred at Memorial Park Cemetery.
