Notes for Penelope Allen
Family Search is split on whether mother is Mary Hawxhurst or Meribah Harcut. If Penelope is born after 1697 (Geoarge Townsend’s death) then it fits with Mary Hawxhurst. This point is moot - see below.
Update - THe Hawkshurst book makes it clear that the Penelope Allen (Abraham Alling/Mary Hawkshurst) married Peter Underhill and had six children.
One PA relationship: married Samuel Youngs in 1714 and had Rosannah Youngs in 1725
2nd PA relationship: PA b aft 1698 married Peter Underhill (presumably in the 1713 to 1728 range and had six children, taking the marriage at least thru 1723. Family search shows PU living thru 1773 and PA born 1704
Hard to make it work that these two PA’s are the same people. Given the detail about PA in the Hawkshurst book, it seems that the PA born to Mary Hawkshurt/Abraham Alling did not marry Samuel Allen. So - it would seem that there is another Penelope Allen who married Samuel Youngs in 1714.
